Admission Criteria
For admission to B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com – Honours courses the Candidates must secure:
- 40% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in the concerned subject in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. [a relaxation of 5% of these marks is applicable for S.C. / S.T. / PH candidates only]
- 45% marks in aggregate and pass marks in the concerned subject in Higher Secondary or equivalent examination. [a relaxation of 5% of these marks is applicable for S.C. / S.T. / PH candidates only]
- Aggregate means total of best five subjects excluding Environmental Studies and including English.
- 5% and 10% Merit Point will be deducted from Total Merit Points credited to the students who have passed 12th standard in 2020 and 2019 respectively.
- Candidates applying for Honours in Pure Science must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in H.S. or equivalent level.
- Candidates applying for Honours in Economics must have Mathematics in H.S. or equivalent level.
- Candidates applying for Honours in BCA must have Computer Application or Mathematics in H.S. or equivalent level.
For admission to B.A. / B.Sc. / B.com- General Courses the Candidates must secure:
- Arts: H.S. or equivalent Passed Candidates seeking admission to B.A. (General) may be from Arts, Science or Commerce streams in H.S. or equivalent level.
- Pure Science: H.S. or equivalent Passed Candidates applying for B.Sc. (Pure Science) General should have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in H.S. or equivalent level.
- Bio-Science: H.S. or equivalent Passed Candidates applying for B.Sc. (Bio-Science) General should have Biology in H.S. or equivalent level.
Candidates qualifying in (10+2) Exam with English as a subject of the West Bengal State Council for Vocational Education and Training (in Regular Mode) are eligible to get admission to B.A. and B.Com General Course only
Students of other State Board are eligible to apply but they have to produce Migration Certificate.
